The main reason is the improved efficiency and sheer speed at which a tree can be removed with the right equipment. When dealing with roadside trees in-particular, time is of the essence, especially when traffic management is being used. There is also the safety factor to consider, whereby removing an operator from the danger zone has obvious benefits. In current times where we are dealing with an influx of Ash dieback tree removals, any equipment that can make the job safer and quicker is a welcome addition to our fleet.

The Merlo is a multi-purpose machine capable of tackling a variety of trees thanks to it’s manoeuvrability in tight spaces. A powerful grapple-saw attachment allows for the same removal of smaller branches and limbs remotely. The same unit can also double up as a mobile crane for removal larger pieces of the stem.
